Scope of Work
Environmental Demolition, Inc. removed and disposed of the lead-based paint on the street level exterior steel window framing along the 16th Street Mall and California Street in downtown Denver. The abatement of the lead-based paint included all paint from the street level to the masonry and brickwork above the window framing and decorative lintels.
For the second part of the project, EDI was chosen to complete a test on a designated section of the galvanized sheet metal cornice at the roof level. A test consisted of removing all paint from this area and preparing the galvanized surface for paint.
The unique aspect of this project were the containments required. The containment for the roof work was 70 feet in the air built on top of the scaffolding. The second containment was required along the 16th Street Mall and California Street. It had to be built without obstructing the pedestrian sidewalk and not block the entrances to the open businesses.
All work was completed while the building was fully occupied.
